Everything Old
I am passe. I belonged to the last century. Or the one before that. I have been obessessed with hand held game. The brick game. Yes, those antique hand held games that are going at $1 per set. I seek solace in nostalgia. This is my Dad's favourite game when we were growing up. It has an amazing calming effect on me. And I like my life this way.
And maybe because God pitied me and thought that I could do with more excitement in life, he treated me to an extraganza of real life performance. I am busy fending off old flame and trashing the current. For the record, they are entirely different matters altogether. Ok, maybe allow me to give you a little background to this little drama.
Mr Old Flame and I dated briefly a year ago when we were doing our MBA. And he decided to go to Europe to advance his career and told me to start seeing other people. I wasn't sore. Because we are essentially different in terms of core values. Yes, we very much wanted the same high lifestyle, the wardrobe and the parties. But we don't want to waste time on each other. And there was talks about me visiting Europe last year because we thought that we can catch up from wherever we left off. But the trip never happen, because, really, there is no point in visiting him. Just at this junction, The Stupid BoyFriend found me. Completely made sense right? Wait, there is a little more to this. You see, The Stupid Boyfriend was also our batchmate, and they used to live under one roof, belonged to the same clique and hate each other's guts. I only met TSBF about the time that Mr OF was leaving. Apparently Mr OF was sore when he knew this.
Mr OF is now on the island for business trip and despite telling his clique that he was tired and needed a rest, he asked me out for a drink. He went on to tell about how he missed the times we had, how lovely I looked, that I was this special girl whom he always respects and likes, and how if he stayed behind, things would be very different and TSBF would not stand a chance. He flattered himself too much. You should get a job in europe, I am there, and you will love it there. I will love it there definitely. On my own. He played the scene so well, romantic settings and my favourite wine, flattery and faked interest in my life. He did not come for me, he came at The Stupid BoyFriend. I know a bad egg when I see one. My reason for even meeting him is that I want to see low he can get and watched him perform.
On an entirely independent incident, The Stupid BoyFriend is using up his chances by continually not living up to his promises. How disappointing. Just a year into the relationship, I am already taken for granted. I would like to think that I am a fucking reasonable person and I take most shit without complaints. Tell me, no, teach me, how to react when your bf/gf repeatedly decided to not inform you that he/she can't/doesn't want to meet up for that date that they had initiated. I don't ask for much, I can make do with an sms. But no, an sms is wasting 10s of his life so he decided to waste half days of my life. Because frankly, you would inform a mere friend that you are not turning up, don't you?. Is it too much to ask from your other half? If it is an effort that you don't want to put in, then I suggest that we relook into what we have been doing for the past one year.
Break time's over. Back to the brick game.

No no brick game is like terris. The art to piling of bricks. How fun.
I tried everything I thought I should and can do, even things I thought were beyond me. I don't know what's next.
Thanks for the hug.
Never heard of the brick game before, but I like S man's version better.
I will try that in the coming weekend. I need de-stress.
